MICHAEL ONEAL TOOMER

Michael Oneal Toomer, 68, was born on Jan. 28, 1953, in Green Sea, to the late Tommy Toomer Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Goodman. He departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, in Florence.

Michael received his formal education from the public schools of Horry County. He was employed with Tommy's Logging Trucking Co., from which he retired after 37 years of faithful and devoted services. He accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Florence.

Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories: one son, Michael Levon Toomer of Chadburn, North Carolina; stepson, Michael Jerome James of Sumter; one daughter, Pshanda (Vincent) Singleton of Sumter; two sisters, Linda Toomer of Washington, D.C., and Evelyn Williams of Conway; three brothers, Tommy Toomer Jr. and Rudy Toomer of Conway, and Archie Toomer of Dillon; three sisters-in-law; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during limited visitation at the home of his daughter, 355 Rolling Creek Drive, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Jake Sanders III officiating.

The procession will leave from the home at 12:20 p.m.
