McLeod Health Clarendon announces 2019 Nurses of the Year

MANNING - McLeod Health Clarendon is pleased to announce the 2019 Nurse of the Year Award recipients: Tara Gutshall, McLeod Health Clarendon Registered Nurse of the Year, and Jennifer Burke, McLeod Home Health Registered Nurse of the Year.

In addition, Leslie "Marie" Glessner was named the Emergency Department Tech Support Person of the Year, and Rosa Shaw was named the McLeod Home Health Certified Nursing Assistant Support Person of the Year.

All McLeod Health Clarendon staff nurses were asked to nominate a fellow nurse who provides quality, compassionate care while personifying true faithfulness to his or her profession. The award recipients were then honored during a special ceremony.

"Nurses and nursing staff are an essential part of the health care team and play a vital role in providing an excellent patient care experience," said Kim Jolly, chief nursing officer of McLeod Health Clarendon. "These women truly exemplify the four core values of McLeod Health - the Value of Caring, the Value of the Person, the Value of Quality and the Value of Integrity - as well as our mission of improving the health and well-being of patients in our region."

The American Nurses Association, through its state and constituent member associations, advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting economic and general welfare, promoting a positive and realistic view of nursing and lobbying Congress and the regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.

McLeod Health operates seven hospitals, including McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon, McLeod Darlington, McLeod Dillon, McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast (North Myrtle Beach). McLeod also operates Urgent Care Centers in Florence and Darlington, along with nearly 85 medical practices throughout the 18 counties in the McLeod Health service area.
