Marion Leonard Robertson Sr., 91, husband of Carol Chandler Robertson, died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at his home.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Hovey Leonard Robertson and Ila Baker Robertson. Mr. Robertson was the owner and operator of Robertson’s Auto Service. He was a South Carolina National Guard veteran, a former deacon and elder at Pitts Presbyterian Church and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he attended the Cornerstone Sunday school class. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, gardening and cooking.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years; children, Patricia Carol Holloway (Lee), Marion Leonard "Butch" Robertson Jr. (Connie), Steven Hovey Robertson, Ronald Glenn "Ronnie" Robertson and Angela Laura Odom (Jimmy); a brother, James Robertson; 10 grandchildren, Otis Holloway (Sabrina), April Geddings (Chris), Katie Holloway, Jacquie Miller (Eric), Ashley Hustad, Kristal Robertson, Blaze Robertson, Lauren Moore, Nicole Odom and Claire Robertson; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Annie Ruth Baker, Dorothy Nesbitt and Juanita Newman; three brothers, Leland Robertson, Charles Robertson and Samuel Robertson; and a grandson, Jason Robertson.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and also at the home.
