The South Carolina Department of Education will host a free community drive-up vaccination clinic on Saturday, June 12, at Manning High School, 2155 Paxville Highway.

The clinic is open to anyone who is 18 or older from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is part of the state's education department's new initiative "Take Your Shot," which encourages residents to get vaccinated.

The clinic offers attendees the chance to receive either their first or second dose of the Moderna vaccine. Participants can also enjoy free lunch, while supplies last, and enter a raffle giveaway for a chance to win a new TV.

According to the state's Department of Health and Environmental Control data updated most recently on June 6, about 37.3% of eligible Clarendon County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 38.4% of South Carolinians eligible to receive the shots have been fully vaccinated.

All South Carolinians aged 12 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and can schedule appointments.
