ALCOLU - Lois Cannon Braxton, 79, widow of Jack Willis Braxton, died on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at NHC in Sumter.
Born on Feb. 14, 1942, in Salters, a daughter of the late William Albert Cannon and Josephine Medlin Cannon. She was a member of Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church and was a CTS teacher at Horse Branch for more than 30 years.
Surviving are her children, Rhoda Driggers Coleman (John) of Summerton, Rachel Driggers Floyd (Terry) of Summerton and Randall Driggers (Debra) of Turbeville; siblings, Brenda C. Driggers (Bobby) of Turbeville and Wendy Cannon (Kathy) of Cheraw; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl, Steve, Francis and Harry Cannon; and a sister, Jeanette Cannon Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Turbeville.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday just before the service at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Turbeville.
