Laurence Manning Academy students represent school in music festival and Miss S.C. Teen pageant

Students of Laurence Manning Academy recently participated in the SCISA Music Festival hosted at the University of South Carolina School of Music in Columbia. Each student representing LMA earned a gold medal for their performance. Pianists were: Kaylee Barton, fifth grade; Willson Epps, seventh grade; Summer Hickson, eighth grade; and Seth Witherspoon, 10th grade. Vocalists were: Molly Prothro, sixth grade; Rivers Ann Gardner, 10th grade; Zach DuRant, 11th grade; and Zealie Kimzey, 12th grade. Their teacher is Libby Anderson. Katie Clark, a junior at LMA, will represent the school in the Miss South Carolina Teen pageant in June. Katie is excited about the opportunity to represent her school as well as the Sumter and Clarendon communities at the state level. Her social impact initiative is D3 - dancing to promote mental, emotional and physical growth and well being. Katie has been dancing for 15 years and believes dance can be beneficial to everyone.
