Graveside services for Lillie Mae Davis McFadden will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church USA Cemetery, Brewington Road, Alcolu, with the Rev. Alonza A. Washington officiating.

Lillie was born in Alcolu, to the late Willie Davis Sr. and Dorcus Anderson Davis.

She transitioned on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.

Lillie Mae received her formal education at Westminster Parochial School, Alcolu, and was a graduate of Sumter High School. Her working career began as a farmer's wife and, in later years, at Campbell Soup Co., until retirement. At an early age, she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church (USA) where she served in many capacities to include the Presbyterian women organization, ordained deacon, superintendent of Sunday school, musician and a member of the senior choir. In the community of Alcolu, she was a member of the YMCA and YWCA Lodge 15. Lillie Mae enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved cooking, planting flowers, fishing with her buddy, Ms. Barker, and serving her miracle food pots.

Survivors include a son, Augustus (Dolores) McFadden of South Norwalk, Connecticut; four daughters, Martha A. Madden of Riverdale, Georgia, Ruth M. Garth of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Gloria McFadden of Alcolu and Gertrude M. Washington (the Rev. Alonza Washington) of Sumter; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
