LILLIE L. YOUNG

NEW ZION - Lillie Legette Young, 67, widow of James Young Sr., died May 31, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 2, 1942, in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Hayward and Bertha Davis Legette and was reared by her grandparents, the late Rev. Thad and Rosa Burgess Davis. She was a 1961 graduate of Walker-Gamble School in New Zion. In her youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Howard Chapel AME Church, where she was a faithful member. She was employed at Sears-Roebuck Co. and Providence Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosa Dee Dee (Derrick) Evans of the home; a son, James Young Jr. of the home; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 5 at Howard Chapel AME Church, Old Manning Road, New Zion. Burial was in the churchyard cemetery.
