Letters to the Editor election policy

The Sumter Item has set a Wednesday, Oct. 28, deadline for submitting all letters to the editor pertaining to the election.

Letters should be 500 words or less and must contain the author's name, address and phone number. Letters submitted in time will run by the Oct. 31-Nov. 2 Weekend Edition.

Please email any letters to the editor to letters@theitem.com or bring them to The Sumter Item office at 36 W. Liberty St. in Sumter.

Mail letters c/o Letters to the Editor, The Sumter Item, P.O. Box 1677, Sumter, SC 29151. Mailed letters must be received by Oct. 28.
