Letter to the Editor: Biden, Harris are killing the American dream

Clint Eastwood once said, "President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people." An update! Now, it's the Biden/Harris presidency. Or, Harris/Biden? The strategy is socialism - more people hooked on government. They are killing the American dream.

Sadly, their use of identity politics is insulting and embarrassing. President Biden continues the divisive rant about race, Jim Crow, white supremacy and "equity." Now, the interstate highway system is racist! Where are the adults in the room? We don't have systemic racism in America. We have "systemic incompetence" in Washington. We are being lied to. They and much of the media portray America as a terrible nation. Actually, we are an honorable nation, providing tremendous opportunity. It's based on a great Constitution.

The Democrat party has abandoned the American dream. The media and many companies have formed an alliance with the administration against small business and the average contributing citizen. Our unique system promotes upward mobility through individual effort, not through Washington.

Additional stimulus and expanded unemployment benefits are stressing businesses trying to open up. There are plenty of workers, but they are sitting home. Our economy is being destroyed. Primarily for power. Before the pandemic last year, household income grew 6.8%, with higher incomes among Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and women. Unemployment for these classes hit new lows.

Pouring government money on problems has proven to be counter productive. We can't afford these current proposals. Are we ready to accept the new "middle-class" entitlements? And, not strive for advancement, as we have done for years.

We cannot allow a minority of misguided anarchists to tear down the fabric of a great nation. That's what has been happening.

They used a pandemic to promote a shutdown and allow riots in the streets (Antifa, BLM, etc). There have been no consequences for crime. The nation has suffered greatly. Now, we have a true invasion at our southern border. "Never let a crisis go to waste." Welcome to disorder, socialism, higher taxes, inflation and moral decay. When Biden pushes for "equity," he is proposing a lowest-common-denominator society.

The hoax is on us.
