Letter to the editor: Let us vote for policies, not personalities

Posted

I realize it would be more mature and "presidential" if Trump stayed off Twitter and he should surely ask himself, "What would Jesus say" before he bad-mouths members of the opposing party. But, you don't have to live with him, you don't have to break bread with him, you don't have to watch him on TV nor read about him in the paper if you don't want to! All you have to do is sit back and enjoy a lot more money in your pocket, law and order on our streets, strong foreign policies that will help halt war and the rumors of war, a secure border and much more for your vote!

For those of you who normally vote the Democratic ticket, unfortunately there is no Democratic Party to vote for at this time! The Democratic Party that we knew has been kidnapped and taken over by far-left radical extremists that do not care about the American people nor our country! These far-left extremists do not share the values held high by the Democratic Party of old who loved and served God, the people and country. Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt demonstrated his love for the people and the country when he started the New Deal. His New Deal created jobs that helped pull the people out of grave poverty caused by the Great Depression. Democratic President John F. Kennedy showed his love for God, the people and the country when he strongly advocated for civil rights. This November, more than any other election, please be mindful not to vote the Democratic ticket just because that is what you have always done or because of allegiance to your family because that is what they and perhaps your entire family tree have always done. If you do, you will merely be voting for a party that doesn't exist as of now. The Republican Party is far more like the Democratic Party of yesterday than the far-left extreme party is.

For those voters who are still on the fence with a few touchy subjects like climate change and abortion, I believe the Republican Party has fair and rational ideas on both. It is not mentioned as much as it should be, but Republicans care deeply about the environment.

We approach climate change with a ready, aim, fire methodology rather than a ready, shoot, aim methodology like this party has done. We are very diligent and do a lot of study and research and don't just listen to what a financially invested and biased media says about the subject. We experiment with ways to fix climate change on smaller scales so as not to spend trillions of taxpayers' dollars just to find out that "the fix" wasn't really a fix at all.

Abortion is the issue most divisive in our country. Firstly, I am surprised and disappointed that there is little said nowadays about simply preventing an unwanted pregnancy in the first place! Outside some of the few circumstances like rape and incest before a viable heartbeat, I believe if the "my body, my right" fighters actually witnessed an abortion where it was no longer just a word or a political movement, there would be an "awakening." I believe if they witnessed the unborn child attempting to dodge the sharp probe trying to extinguish his or her life, the my body my right fighters would just not look so right anymore.

Getting to the place where you're agonizing over what to do with an unwanted pregnancy doesn't have to happen, it can be prevented! Couples need to pledge to be responsible.

When this far-left group was voted into office in 2020, I cried out to God and asked Him why this extremist group made it to office. His answer was simply, "Awakening." I pray enough people have been "awakened," awakened to the damage this extremist party has done to our people and country and will continue to do. Please grab your friends and get out and vote for the policies that will make America and our lives great again!
