The Lee County COVID-19 Response Team is holding four vaccination clinics this month.

"Our goal is to vaccinate our children, their families and the greater community from the onslaught of this deadly virus," said the Rev. Willie Wilson, chairman of the response team, who organized the team to increase the number of vaccinations against COVID-19 in the area.

The clinics are scheduled as follows:

- Feb. 10 at Lee Central Middle School, 41 Charlenes Lane, Bishopville;

- Feb. 18 at Lee Central High School, 1800 Wisacky Highway, Bishopville;

- Feb. 24 at Lower Lee Elementary School, 5142 St. Charles Road in Mayesville; and

- Feb. 25 at West Lee Elementary School, 55 W. Lee School Road in Rembert.

Each clinic is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Wilson said it is preferred if participants make an appointment in advance. Students must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents must also present a valid ID to sign for a student to be vaccinated.

As of Saturday, 54% of Lee County residents have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine compared to 46% of residents that are fully vaccinated, according to data from the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
