Lee Central High's James honored as Counselor of the Month for June contest

Lee Central High School's Anjennette James was recognized on Tuesday for winning Counselor of the Month, presented by Morris College, for June. She is pictured here with Leroy Staggers, Morris president. The college sponsors the contest to be administered by The Sumter Item to recognize high school counselors in Sumter, Clarendon and Lee counties. Nominations can still be made for October's series through Oct. 15. Three finalists will be chosen by Item staff, and the public votes on the winner. The winner is announced on the fourth Tuesday of the month and receives a plaque and a $50 gift card. Nominate your favorite counselor at www.theitem.com/counselor.
