Lola Clyde Moody Knowles, 93, widow of John P. Knowles, died June 6 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.

Born Jan. 25, 1917, in LaGrange, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Leon and Mary Wright Swanson. First married to James Carlton Moody, she was retired owner and operator of the Manning Restaurant. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Surviving are three sons, Jimmy Moody (Mary), Jerry Moody (Kathy) and Stuart Moody and Robin Locklear, all of Manning; two daughters, Mary Kozy (John) and Charlotte Broadway (Ernie) of Manning; a brother, Ed Swanson of LaGrange; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stacy Carl Moody.

Funeral services were held June 9 at the funeral home. Graveside services were held June 10 at Warm Springs Cemetery in Georgia.
