KEITH C. DEATON

MANNING -- Keith Carson Deaton, 69, husband of Christine Kirkley Deaton, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home in Manning.

Born April 19, 1941, in Pageland, he was a son of the late Robert Deaton and Anita Usher Deaton Austin. He was a retired S.C. Highway patrolman; attended Wingate College in North Carolina; served in the S.C. National Guard; and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife of Manning are a daughter, Dena Melton and her husband, Anthony, of New Orleans, La.; two grandsons, Blake Douglas Smith and Austin Geddings, both of Manning; two brothers, the Rev. Robert Deaton of Duncan and Norvard Deaton of Monroe, N.C.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 15, 2010, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Robert L. Deaton officiating.
