Joyce Ann Revell Howle, 66, of Manning, wife of Paul Alcorn, died June 17 at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Born July 18, 1943, in Olanta, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Elma Revell. She was employed at Horne's Restaurant for many years, which is where she met the love of her life. She retired after working for the Fitness Forum at Carolina's Hospital.

She loved living on the water, flowers, spending time with her family and friends and pulling weeds in her flower beds.

She was predeceased by two sons, Allen Patrick Howle and John Franklin Howle, her mother, her father, four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors besides her husband of the home include two daughters, Patricia (Don) Balkcum, of Florence, S.C., and Joy Lynne (Mike) Smith of Thomasville, Ga.; a sister Mary (Joe) Matthews of Florence; a brother Olin (Valerie) Revell of Effingham; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren best friends and beloved neighbors, June (Keith) Carter and Gail (Ron) Smithwick, both of Manning; and her little dog, Sam, whom she loved with all her heart.

A memorial service was held June 20 at Elim Bible Church in Effingham.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial's be sent to Elim Bible Church, 1318 Olanta Hwy., P.O. Box 325 Effingham, S.C. 29541.
