JOSEPH HOLMES

Joseph Holmes, 78, son of the late Holland Holmes and Mary Hunter Holmes, was born on April 26, 1946, in Sumter. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 2-6 p.m. at Job’s Mortuary.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, with the Rev. Robert China officiating and Bishop Jeffrey Johnson, eulogist.
Interment will follow in Wayman Chapel AME Church Cemetery, Sumter.
Family will receive friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Ja’Rea Holmes Green and Sherrick Green, 2535 Foxcroft Circle, Sumter, daily from 3-8 p.m.
Job’s Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
