JOHN RAY MCELHANEY

John Ray McElhaney, 75, widower of Cathy McCoy McElhaney, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at his home.

Born in Rock Hill, he was a son of the late H.W. Belk and Annie Mae McElhaney.

Mr. McElhaney was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was retired from R&R Communications.

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer McElhaney Pring (Richard) of Sumter and Lola Ethington of Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Christine Nolff of Lugoff; a son-in-law, Steve Poston of Columbia; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley McElhaney; two daughters, Julie Poston and Faith McElhaney; and a grandson, Joe Brown.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Oswego with the Rev. Tim Whited officiating.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

All attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
