JOHN DINGLE

John Dingle, 66, husband of Hestell Dingle, died June 14 at his home.

Born Sept. 15, 1943, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Conner and Cora Dingle. He attended Clarendon County public schools. He worked as a farmer and retired from Martin Brothers.

Survivors besides his wife of the home include two sons, Willie Dingle of Raleigh, N.C., and Richard Dingle of Columbia; a daughter, Virginia Dingle (Joseph) Briggs of Manning; five sisters, Lubertha Brunson of Sumter, Eva (Eddie) Wright, Charlotte Dingle and Catherine (James) Hines, all of Summerton, and Annie Mae (Edward) Carter of New York, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Jenny M. Briggs, Elizabeth Briggs, Joseph L. Briggs Jr., Sadie Dingle, Kayle M. Briggs, Stacey Dingle, Lisa M. Briggs and Javon T. Briggs; and a special sister-in-law, Susie Mae Brunson.

Funeral services were held June 19 at St. Matthew AME Church with the Rev. Dr. J.A. McDonald, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
