John Dale Weible, 89, died on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John R. Weible and Laura Barry-Weible. John served in the United States Air Force for over four years. He was a self-employed entreprenuer in Sumter and owned numerous businesses. He was most known as the owner /operator of Oaklawn Furniture in Sumter. John loved his dogs, playing cards and corn hole. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by: two sons, Danny Weible and his wife, Debbie, of Sumter and John D. Weible Jr. and his significant other, Julie Smithson, of Sumter; three daughters, Debbie Ashy and her husband, Tony, of Sumter, Donna W. Thompson of Sumter and Darlene W. Kennington of Tyler, Texas; former wife, Violet Rowland; and 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Weible, and a sister, Sue Weible Murphy.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Neil DuBose officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Helms, Jim Rabon and Jeff Sanders.
