JESSE WILLARD BRUNSON JR.

Jesse Willard Brunson Jr., 81, husband of Janice Jackson Brunson, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at his home.
Born Jan. 4, 1943, in Sumter, he was the son of the late Jesse Willard Brunson Sr. and the late Emma Frances Brown Brunson.  He was a charter member of New Calvary Baptist Church.  He worked with Mills Electric for 26 years and retired from Farmers Telephone Cooperative after 22 years of service.  He loved the outdoors, especially running his hunting dogs and caring for his horses.  
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 60 years, include three daughters, Jeannie B. Rogers (Wendell), Joy B. Hendrix (Ronnie) and Jill B. Walton (Wade); six grandchildren, Aaron Rogers (Ashton), Amy Burrows (Cody), Emily H. Robinson (Mackenzie), Hunter Hendrix, Cole Walton (Kristen) and Corie Newman (Tyler); and two great-grandchildren, Granger Walton and Lenora Ann Robinson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Brunson and Ada B. Moylan.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at New Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Tuggle officiating.  Burial will be in the Brunson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Rogers, Cole Walton, Hunter Hendrix, Mackenzie Robinson, Cody Burrows and Tyler Newman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Rogers, Ronnie Hendrix, Wade Walton, J.C. Floyd, Wayne Oxendine, David Boyce, Tommy West, Clint Jackson, Jason Brown, C.W. Roberson and Horace Roberson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
