Jerry Frazier Jr. was born on March 15, 1954, in Harlem, New York, the eldest of five children to Norvel Owens Frazier and the late Jeremiah Frazier. He departed this life on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Jerry graduated from Samuel Gompers High School in Bronx, New York. He then became employed with Con Edison, New York. Jerry later moved to South Carolina and was employed at several jobs, one of which was Eaton Electrical.

Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, Patricia Burrell; his dear mother, Norvel Frazier of Harlem; a son, Brett Austin Frazier of Salem, Massachusetts; precious grandchildren, Brett, Marley and Kamya; sisters, Cheryl F. (Kevin) Beazer of Orlando, Florida, Norvara F. (Rennail) Smith of Hacienda Heights, California, and Shirley Tarplay of Miami; a stepdaughter, Tocarra Simon; and a host of aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Gregory and Tommy Frazier.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary with Masonic Rites at 6 p.m.

Mr. Frazier will be placed in the Fine Arts Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Lakewood High School Fine Arts Center, 350 Old Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150 with the Rev. Nicole Simon officiating and Brother Melvin Sapp, eulogist.

The family will receive friends at the home, 2487 Tindal Road, Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
