JERRY DEANS EVANS SR.

Jerry Deans Evans Sr., 62, husband of Sarah Champion Evans and son of Mattie Wise Evans and the late Prest Evans, was born on Sept. 30, 1961, in Gable. He departed this life on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Sumter East Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sumter.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Job’s Mortuary Inc.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with Rev. Channing Brown, officiating.

Interment will follow in Old McFadden Cemetery, New Zion.

Family will receive friends at the home of his son, Ethan Evans, 3350 Wilton Drive, Sumter, daily from 3 to 8 p.m.

Job’s Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
