JAMES R. GOLDSMITH

James Robert Goldsmith, 72, husband of Juanita "Liz" Mikell Goldsmith, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born June 25, 1938, in Waldorf, Md., he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Eleanor Richards Goldsmith. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired building contractor. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife of Manning are two sons, Zane Scott Goldsmith and his wife, Theresa, of Waldorf and Dean Adam Goldsmith of Alexandria, Va.; four brothers, Claude Goldsmith and his wife, Delores, of Murrells Inlet, Leonard Goldsmith of Emporium, Pa., Steven Goldsmith and his wife, Susan, of Mechanicsville, Md., and Danny Goldsmith of Brandywine, Md.; a step-granddaughter, Kathleen Conroy; and step-great-granddaughter, Jazzmyn Pilkerton.

He was predeceased by a son, Bruce Lee Goldsmith.

A memorial service will be held in Maryland at a later date.
