JAMES ARTIS BAUGHMAN SR.

Mr. James Artis Baughman Sr. "Jim," 85, of Loving Road. Morganton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 30, 2025, following an extended illness. Jim was born on Sept. 11, 1939, in Wagener, South Carolina, the son of the late Artis Baughman and the late Nellie Ruth Gantt Baughman.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and The Marine Corps League Barnwell County Leathernecks Detachment #1227, and an avid golfer. Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Mary Hurst Baughman. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston, South Carolina. Surviving Mr. Baughman are his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Carolyn Seigler Baughman of Morganton; his children, Jay Baughman of Morganton, Jamie (Wayne Barth) Baughman of Morganton and Robert (Debbie) Baughman of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, John David Bragg, Haley and Anthony Evans, Charlee and Marc Nussbaum, and Derrick Baughman; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to the Fisher House Foundation in Jim's memory.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
