Jameika Grant Middleton was born on Jan. 10, 1980, in Kershaw County, to the late Norman and Linda Grant. She departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Atruim Health in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jamieka graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School. She attended Benedict College, Columbia, then served in the United States Army Reserves. She was an amazing mother, sister and friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed laughing and making everyone laugh.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Shawn Middleton Sr.; a son, Shawn Middleton Jr.; a daughter, Brenna Middleton; a sister, Janelle (Everett) Daniels of Lexington; a brother, Norman (Jameka) Grant Jr. of Lugoff; mother-in-law, Darlene (Anthony) Middleton of Columbia; a brother-in-love, Brantley Middleton of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 215 Ward Road, Lugoff.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams officiating.

The procession will leave from the home at 10 a.m.

Burial will be at Unity Family Life Center, 274 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff.
