Customers sign up for a founding member one-year membership with BJ's Wholesale Club on Monday at the new store's membership center at 1140 Broad St. in Independents' Hall Plaza. The strip plaza also includes Dreamworks Dance Academy and a Subway restaurant. The membership center is about one mile from the BJ's large-scale construction site on Alice Drive.
Early membership registration runs through Dec. 11 and is at a discounted rate, according to a news release. The Club Card Membership for one year is $40, instead of the regular $60 price. The Club+ Card Membership is $80, instead of the regular rate of $120 and offers additional perks.
Membership center hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Early registration before the club opens can also be done online at BJs.com/Sumter. Currently, BJ's lists that the new store on Alice Drive across the street from Walmart Supercenter plans to open this winter. A membership is needed to shop at the club. The only exception is a one-day shopping pass, which applies to online shopping only, according to the company's website.
BJ's does offer a 100% money-back guarantee on memberships. If an individual is not satisfied with their membership, they can cancel and receive a refund on membership fees.
