Inez Lorene Tyler Bartlette, 95, widow of Joseph Neece Bartlette Sr., died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late James Tyler and Belle Tyler McElveen. Mrs. Bartlette was a member of Wise Drive Baptist Church and a past worthy matron of Iris Chapter No. 149 Order of Eastern Star. She was retired from Santee Print Works.

Surviving is one son, Joseph N. (Carole) Bartlette Jr.; three grandsons, Steven (Tracey) Bartlette, Mickey Geddings and Carl (Tricia) Brown; three granddaughters, Gwen Nash, Teresa (Fred) Volking and Natalie Windham; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one half-sister, Annie Fagan; one half-brother, Robbie McElveen; and a special niece, Lou Ella Ethridge.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Geddings; two brothers, Gurley Tyler and Woodrow Tyler; and one half-brother, Bill McElveen.

Funeral services with Eastern Star rites were held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2010, in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Burgess officiating. Burial was held in Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family received friends at the home of her granddaughter, 5 Sweetbriar Court.
