HENRY WELLS JR.
YORK, Pa. - Mr. Henry Wells Jr., age 76, of York, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in the York Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria Lee Wells. Mr. Wells was born in Sumter on April 1, 1943, and he is the son of the late Henry and Essie (York) Wells Sr. He was a retired truck driver. His hobbies included telling jokes, singing, playing checkers and dancing. Survivors include, in addition to his wife: two sons, Henry (Hank) Wells III (Andrea) and Samuel Wells, both of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Doreen Wells of Washington, D.C. and Tina Wells of Hellam, Pennsylvania; one sister, Shirley Wells Brodie (Bennie); 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an aunt, Virginia York; an uncle, Thomas York; Amatullah Shabazz (a.k.a. TuTu); a caregiver, Loretta Urey (African daughter); and cousin/best friend, Lonnie McKelvy. Funeral services were held Saturday.
