HENRIETTA CONYERS

ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. - Henrietta Conyers, 77, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center.

Born Oct. 1, 1933, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Robert Conyers and Easter Gibson Conyers. She was a 1952 graduate of Scott's Branch High School. She retired from IBM in 1993 and returned to her beloved Summerton.

Survivors include a son, Nehemiah (Bernice) Conyers of Valley Stream, N.Y.; a brother, James (Lueleatha) Conyers of Summerton; three grandchildren, Danny, Denise Olivia (Matthew), Deidre; and a great-grandchild, Myashia.

Funeral services were held July 26 at Spring Hill AME Church, 4309 Bill Davis Road, Summerton, with the Rev. Harold Conyers, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

JOSEPH T. DOHERTY Jr.

Joseph Thomas Doherty Jr., 73, died July 20, 2010, at his home in Manning.

Born March 29, 1937, in Boston, Mass., he was a son of the late Joseph Thomas Sr. and Blanche Claire Morgan Doherty. He was a retired heating and air conditioning technician for the United States government; an Army veteran; an Air Force veteran; and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, where he served as K of C coordinator and sacristan. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include three sisters, Barbara E. Murphy of Newton, Mass., Blanche C. Curtin and her husband, James, of Moody, Maine, and Elizabeth Duddy and her husband, James, of McNeal, Ariz.; three nieces, Kathleen Dow, Stephanie Pilkington and Monica McArdle; three nephews, Timothy Curtin, Kevin Murphy and Brian Duddy; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, James Murphy.

Funeral services are to be held at a later date in Newton.
