SANTEE - Mr. Harris Devond Johnson, 73, of Santee, widower of Brenda Shuler Johnson, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at a Columbia hospital.

Born in Alcolu, he a son of the late Wylie Willie Johnson and Belva Coker Johnson. He was the founder of Santee Equipment Co. and was an antique tractor enthusiast. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Evelyn J. Geddings of Little River; sons, Billy and David Johnson, both of Santee; a sister, Ellie and Fletcher Johnson of Marion; brothers, Ralph (Pat) Johnson of Charleston and Ashley (Marguerite) Johnson of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Steven and Jeffery Johnson of Bowman, Melody Johnson of Eutawville, Adrianna Strock of North, Aron Pate of Sumter, Douglas Pate Jr. of Little River; and Taylor Johnson of Orangeburg; three great-grandchildren; and caregiver and close friend Jane Ensley.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen E. Starr officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
