Gloria Jenkins, 61, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at her mother's home.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1959, to Shirley Mayrant McLane of Horatio and the late John McLane Sr. Gloria attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School Class of 1978. At an early age, she joined High Hills AME Church, where she served as pastor's aide, on the hospitality committee and a member of the Willing Works Organization. Gloria retired from Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, where she was a dedicated and devoted employee for 25 years.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Earl Jenkins Sr.; her son, Earl Jenkins Jr.; two brothers, Edward (Donna) McLane of Columbia and John Perry of Sumter; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Jenkins of Dalzell, Gloria (Leonard) Scott and Linda Davis-McLane of Sumter; six brothers-in-law, Frank (Eddie Jean) Jenkins of Sumter, Willie (Ernestine) Jenkins, Henry (Victoria) Jenkins, Ronald (Ernestine) Jenkins, Ernest (Sarah) Jenkins and William (Linda) Jenkins, all of Dalzell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at High Hills AME Church Cemetery, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Keith Mays Sr., pastor, eulogist.

Services directed by the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
