GLADYS JAMES MONTGOMERY

Gladys James Montgomery, 89, wife of Stanley Montgomery Sr., was born on Oct. 18, 1930, in Rimini, a daughter of the late Rev. Gibbs James and Maude Johnson James McKnight. She departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary. There will be a family and friends walk-thru from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Montgomery will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. on Thursday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with Pastor Marion H. Newton, eulogist, and Pastor Dorothy Maple officiating.

Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. daily at the home of her daughter, 395 N. St. Paul Church Road, Sumter, SC 29154. Visitation will be drive-thru only. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family requests all guests maintain social distancing and wear facial masks.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
