GERALDINE KNOX

Geraldine Knox, daughter of Lizzie Knox Neely and the late Simon Jenkins, was born July 8, 1953, in Sumter. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Geraldine received her elementary education in the Sumter County school system and graduated from Hillcrest High School, Class of 1972. Geraldine answered the call to serve others by receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from City College, New York. After graduation, Geraldine worked at Saint Luke Hospital in New York and Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. She retired after 40 years from Dorn VA Hospital, where she received numerous appreciation awards for her steadfast dedication to her job.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church USA, 4620 Queen Chapel Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Carnell Hampton, pastor.

Burial followed in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Yard Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 3370 Ebenezer Road, Dalzell.
