George "Friday" "Paul" McBride, widower of Minnie Pearl Williams McBride, departed his earthly journey on Monday, May 6, 2019, at his residence in Sumter.

He was born on April 14, 1959, in Sumter County, to Joe and Sarah Margaret Walters McBride. He attended Sumter County schools and was employed with White Armature, Myson Tires and Sharpe Tires.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his stepdaughter, Stephanie Renee (Eiwin) Abu'Abjei "Ado A Jay"; six sisters, Margaret (Roosevelt) McDaniel and Ann (Isaiah) Smith of Sumter, Sharon (Jon) Warner of Atlanta, Terry (Phillip) Foster of Belleville, Illinois, Josephine (Ronald) Damis of Louisville, Kentucky, and Linda Bowman of Bridgeport, Connecticut; three brothers, William (Rena) McBride of Summerton, Edward (Dorian) Bowman of Huntsville, Alabama, and Leroy Bowman of Bridgeport; his stepmother, Williot McBride; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Joyce Morris; and a brother, Johnnie Bowman.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service Inc. with the Rev. Leroy Blanding officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Manning.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service Inc. and other times at the home of his sister, Margret McDaniel, 53 Dollard Drive.
