GEORGE EDWARD CHINA JR.

George Edward China Jr., son of the late George China Sr. and Marie Dawson China, was born on Aug. 11, 1958, in Sumter. His soul entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his home in Dalzell.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School with the Class of 1977. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served his country from May 11, 1977, to Jan. 3, 1983. He was a member of American Legion Post 175 in Dalzell.

His memories will be cherished by his daughter and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his sister, 4160 South Lake Cherryvale Drive, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Bible Outreach Ministry, 1010 N. Guignard Drive, Sumter, with Pastor Calvin Peterson, eulogist, Pastor Eric Stuckey, officiating.

Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia.
