Free vaccine clinics this weekend in Clarendon, Lee counties

The South Carolina Department of Education will host three free COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Clarendon and Lee counties this weekend.

SCDOE partnered with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for the In It To Win It vaccination initiative to support local school districts, encourage vaccinations and provide information and resources to residents.

Lee County

Lee County residents can receive the vaccine on Saturday, Jan. 15, at The Lot, 309 N. Main St., in Bishopville from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Children 5-11 can receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and those 12 years and older can receive their first, second or booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Adults 18 years and older can also receive either their first, second or booster dose of the Moderna vaccine.

Only 52% of eligible Lee County residents have received at least one of the COVID-19 vaccines compared to 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.

Clarendon County

Clarendon County residents can receive the vaccine on Jan. 15 at Jehovah Jireh Outreach Ministries, 2029 Moses Dingle Road, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Children 5-11 can receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and those 12 years and older can receive their first, second or booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Adults 18 years and older can receive either their first, second or booster dose of the Moderna vaccine.

Residents can also attend another clinic on Sunday, Jan. 16, at Summerton Town Hall, 10 Main St., from 1-4 p.m. Children 5 years and older can receive the Pfizer vaccine, and adults 18 years and older will be able to receive the Moderna vaccine or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Only 59% of eligible Clarendon County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine compared to 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.
