Free COVID-19 testing site will be offered Saturday in Clarendon County

Residents of Clarendon County will have three opportunities coming up this month to be tested for coronavirus infection for free, beginning Saturday.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is holding a free COVID-19 Community Testing Event in Turbeville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at East Clarendon Middle School, 1171 Pope St.

The mobile clinic offers drive-through testing. Prescreening is not required. The cost is free to patients. Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The next site will be a mobile site, also located in Turbeville. The Medical University of South Carolina is hosting a free COVID-19 Mobile Testing Site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at Turbeville Town Hall, 1400 Main St.

No preregistration or appointment is necessary. If available, provide a driver's license or valid picture ID. Patients must be 2 years of age and older. Patients under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please wear a mask.

Near the end of the month, on Oct. 24, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is holding a free COVID-19 community testing event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Weldon Auditorium, 7 Maple St.
