FRANCES H. BELL

SUMMERTON - Frances Holmes Bell, 88, wife of Ralph "Buck" Bell Jr., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.

Born April 4, 1922, in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Horace Greeley Holmes and Ora Herlong Holmes. She was a housewife. She was a member of Summerton Baptist Church and the Waunette Howle Sunday School Class. She gave many dedicated years of service to Clarendon Hall School.

She is survived by her husband of Summerton; a son, John W. Ducworth (Betsy) of Summerton;three daughters, Mandy McGee of Simpsonville, Martha Reynolds (Julian) of Andrews and Fran Green (Guerry) of Pawleys Island; a sister, Jewel Herlong of Johnston; six grandchildren, Michael McGee, John Ducworth III (Julie), Elizabeth Rogan, Martha Green, Hayes Green and Guerry Green Jr.; and two greatgrandchildren, May Rogan and William Rogan.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Summerton Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Pierce officiating assisted by the Rev. Bob Ashba. Burial followed in Benbow Cemetery.

Stanley Herlong, Thomas Herlong, Billy Davis, Bob Davis, Don Clark and Roy Belser served as pallbearers.
