Sumter County Farm Bureau and local Farm Bureau Insurance agents are bringing a little more joy to this holiday season by helping those in the community facing financial or medical hardships.
The local office donated $1,500 to John Presley, who is disabled and raising his daughter on his own after his wife passed away from COVID-19.
"We hope our Farm Bureau Cares program helps make life a little easier," said Duane Brown, Farm Bureau Insurance agency manager. "During this time of year, the holidays are hard on many people, and this is an opportunity to bring a little joy to a local family."
The donation is part of a company-sponsored holiday community outreach program called Farm Bureau Cares. Through Farm Bureau Cares, county Farm Bureau offices across South Carolina provide a monetary donation during December to help a family or charity of their choice. Farm Bureau Insurance matches each donation made by the local County Farm Bureau and agents.
Farm Bureau Cares donated more than $33,800 statewide to assist charities and countless individuals this holiday season.
