GREENVILLE - Andrew Eyster doubled home Brady Allen in the bottom of the 11th inning as South Carolina walked off to a 3-2 college baseball win over Clemson on Saturday at Fluor Field in Greenville.
Allen led off the 11th with a double to the gap in right-center field against Geoffrey Gilbert, the fourth Tiger pitcher. Allen came in on a 1-out double by Eyster.
The Gamecocks improved to 5-0 on the season, while Clemson fell to 3-1. The teams meet again on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Founders Park in Columbia.
The Gamecocks put up a run in the first on Wes Clarke's RBI single up the middle that scored Allen. The two teams then traded runs in the fourth. Clemson’s James Parker brought in Dylan Brewer with a single up the middle, while Jeff Heinrich's RBI single to center scored Brennan Milone, who doubled to start the frame. That gave USC a 2-1 lead.

The game remained that way until the top of the ninth, when Parker led off the frame with a solo home run over the Green Monster in left off of Carolina reliever Brett Kerry.

Carolina got out of a jam in the 11th as Will Sanders came on in relief of Kerry with runners on first and second with no one out. Sanders induced a 6-4-3 double play and then got a groundout to end the Clemson 11th.

Sanders picked up the win in relief. Starter Thomas Farr struck out seven in a 6-inning stint. Julian Bosnic had three strikeouts in one inning while Kerry struck out six in three innings.
Allen, David Mendham and Heinrich had three hits apiece while Eyster had two hits. USC had 15 hits, but stuck out 21 times and left 13 runners on base.
Parker finished with three hits to lead Clemson, which had just seven hits. Brewer had two hits. The USC pitchers struck out 16 batters.
Clemson starting pitcher Davis Sharpe worked just four innings and allowed seven hits, but he struck out 10. Mack Anglin struck out three in three innings, while Rasesh Pandya struck out two in one inning. Gilbert struck out six in 2 1/3 innings.
