GREELEYVILLE — Edward Perry Norris Jr., 86, husband of the late Frances Smith Norris, passed away at his home in Greeleyville on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Edward was born in Darlington on Jan. 21, 1939, a son of the late Edward Perry and Evelyn Worrill Norris.
Edward is survived by their five children and their spouses, Teressa Gamble and Johnny of James Island, Tony Norris and Marian of Greeleyville, Wendy Cogdill and Chris of Summerton, Charlene McCord and Ken of Mount Pleasant and Hope Roberts and Will of Durham, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Timothy Norris (Charlene) and Rose Marie Grooms (Cecil). In addition to his parents and his wife, Frances, Edward was preceded in death by siblings, Elizabeth Worrill, Marguerite Perkins, Raymond Norris, Gene Norris, Danny Norris, Frankie Norris, and two infant sisters, Joyce Gail and Louise Evelyn Norris.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, Papa and friend. He married the love of his life, Frances, on March 22, 1959. They had five wonderful children, whom they cherished. He loved to cut up and make you laugh, fishing, gardening, and farming with his son. He especially enjoyed gospel music, playing the guitar and watching Duke basketball. He will be deeply missed.
He was a member of Greeleyville United Methodist Church. To celebrate his wonderful life, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at New Market Cemetery, SC-375, Greeleyville.
