EDUARD ALLINGER

Eduard Allinger, 88, husband of the late Ingeberg Arndt Allinger, died on Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home.

Born on Dec. 17, 1932, in Switzerland, he was a son of the late Josef and Frieda Eberle Allinger. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 27½ years of service and was a Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War veteran. Following his military career, he was employed by the U.S. Civil Service in New York City and retired in Germany.

Survivors include three children, John E. Allinger (Evelyn) of Columbia, Iris Chilcutt (Dwayne) of Sumter and Michael Allinger (Justine) of Gilbert; five grandchildren, Brandon Allinger, Nicholas Chilcutt (Lauren), Heather Chilcutt, Samantha Falstad (Collin) and Shawna Morgan (Konner); and two great-grandchildren, Maddie Falstad and Nora Grace Morgan.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Plaza Church of Christ, 1402 Camden Highway, Sumter, with Brother Jonathan Godsey officiating.
