Earline Pressley Felder, 97, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at National Health Care, Sumter.

Born April 27, 1913, in Manning, Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late John Warren and Tena Redden Pressley. She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of Ebenezer AME Church. Later she moved to Richmond, Va., to live with her sister, Lizzie Alston, and then to Newark, N.J. While living in Newark, she became a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the choir and Missionary Society. Upon relocating to Sumter to care for her father, she became a member of Union Station AME Church, where she served faithfully as a trustee, member of the choir, prayer band, pastor's aide, Stewardess Board No. 1 and the women's missionary society. She was also a member of Sumter Senior Services and National Federation of the Blind Sumter Chapter. During her lifetime, she blessed and touched many lives.

She was married to the late Mack Felder. Entering this marriage, she was blessed with six beautiful children, five of which preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Willie, Haywood, James and Albert; and four sisters, Maggie, Lizzie, Annie Bell and Mary Jane.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her loving niece, Barney Furman of Sumter; one daughter, Hester Taylor of New Jersey; a special grandson, Jerome (Dee) Taylor of New Jersey; a goddaughter, Rosalyn P. Brown; a devoted cousin, Hager P. Corbett of Sumter; a very special friend, Lottie Baker of Sumter; five special nephews, Arthur McDaniel, Lenell, Craig, Kenneth and Robby Anderson; 40 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Union Station AME Church, South Main Street in Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. Friendly J. Gadson, pastor, eulogist, the Rev. Joshua Dupree, pastor of Greater Bethel AME Church, Kingstree, presiding, assisted by the Rev. Jerome McCray, the Rev. Robert E. Galloway, the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, the Rev. Hezekiah Ellis and Elder Fredrick A. Pressley.

Members of the Women's Missionary Society served as floral bearers and the Sons of Allen served as pallbearers.

Interment was held in Cypress Fork AME Church cemetery, Alcolu.
