DuRant-Hardy

Dr. Eddie C. DuRant Jr. of Wedgefield and Ms. Debbie Bramlett DuRant of Sumter announce the engagement of their daughter, Dixie Gloria Bell DuRant of Sumter, to Travis Allen Hardy of Sumter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore A. Hardy also of Sumter.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Eddie C. DuRant Sr. of Sumter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry "Luke" Bramlett Sr. of Murrells Inlet. She graduated from Sumter High School in 2007 and Clemson University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is employed by Liberty STEAM Charter School.

The bridegroom-elect is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton A. Bagwell (Willie Dale) of Birmingham, Alabama, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Layton Carl Wells (Margaret) of Hinesville, Georgia, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Leonard Hardy (Nina Clayton) of Galveston, Texas, and the late Mr. James E. Blackwell of Green Creek, North Carolina, and Ms. Vivian E. Blackwell of Hinesville, Georgia. He graduated from Thomas Sumter Academy in 2007 and the University of South Carolina in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He is employed by the City of Sumter.
