DOROTHY E. SLATER

A public viewing for Dorothy E. Slater will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Whites Mortuary LLC.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 325 W. Fulton St., Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. James Blassingame, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Florence National Cemetery in Florence.

Dorothy, wife of the late James L. Slater, was born on Jan. 22, 1940, in Sumter, to the late Ida Mae Evans Jones. She departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, in Sumter.

The family is receiving friends at 612 E. Charlotte Ave., Sumter.
