DOROTHY D. DINGLE

SUMMERTON - Dorothy Davis "Dot" Dingle, 86, widow of Claude Treadwell Dingle Jr., died Friday, March 4, 2011, at her home in Summerton.

Born March 11, 1924, in Pinewood, she was a daughter of the late Jefferson Maynard Davis and the late Hester Barwick Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Summerton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Dingle Moody of Summerton; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wheeler Dingle of Pawleys Island; two grandchildren, Susan Kirby Chappell of Paxville and Wendy Dingle Grant of Pawleys Island; and two great grandchildren, Brendan Davis Kirby and Lillian Cassidy Grant.

She was preceded in death by a son, Claude Treadwell "Ted" Dingle III.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 2011, at Summerton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Garland Hart officiating. Burial followed in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.

Richard P. Felder Jr., Ferrel Sansbury, Dwight Stewart, Delbert Royer, Carl Cagle and William Bell Davis will serve as pallbearers.

The family received friends at the home of her daughter, 20 S. Church St., Summerton.
