For the first time, the Town of Summerton will fill its streets with a Christmas parade.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m., Summerton residents can join Mayor Tony Junious and many others for the parade down Fourth Street.

Santa Claus and local fire and EMS teams will participate, ready to celebrate the Christmas season with residents.

Junious said he is ecstatic for the parade.

"I am overly excited and ready for it to happen; we put so much work into it, and it's almost here," he said.

Alongside the mayor, Summerton Police Chief Donell Dixon and WLTX News 19's Nydja Hood, will be the 2022 grand marshall and town adminstrator Mary Adger.

Spectators can enjoy the parade floats and  Christmas lights, and fill their stomachs from eight different food trucks.

"It will be a good time. I am ready, I hope everyone enjoys themselves," Junious said.
