BISHOPVILLE - The Dennis High School Class of 1968 began its 56th reunion celebration on Friday, Aug. 30, at the Bishopville Opera House.

The program began with a prayer followed by the singing of the alma mater. A candle was lit and slides were shown of the 52 deceased classmates. The class had 120 members. Following the memorial, the class members enjoyed games and reminiscing. Food, catered by V. Sullivan catering, included everything from meatballs to pastries.

On Saturday, Aug. 31, the classmates attended a banquet presided over by Ray Mickens, class president, and Irene Reames, vice president. Mickens and Reames also presided over Friday's event. Classmate, the Rev. Blondell Miller, blessed the night's food which included a menu of chicken, ham, green beans and more. Greetings and reflections were given by Reames, and more slides were shown and games played. Following the taking of class photos and discussion of the next reunion, the evening ended with the electric slide with music provided by Mrs. Ernestine Mickens, wife of the class president. She also contributed to the slides, photos for the program and booklet.

On Sunday, Sept. 1, the classmates completed the celebration by attending a church service at First Camden Methodist Church in Camden.
