DEMECTRIC R. COUSAR

Demectric Raheem Cousar, 16, son of John L. Cousar and Sandra Billie, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 20, 1993, in Sumter, he attended Clarendon and Sumter schools, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors besides his parents included grandmothers, Barbara Smith of Sumter and Ruth Cousar of Gable; a great-grandmother, Ruby L. Billie of Sumter; four brothers, Fredrick Billie, John M. (Latonia) Cousar, Henry Dingle and Ronald (Alexandria) Cousar, all of Sumter; two sisters, Tiffany Cousar and Shenia (Michael) Reavis, both of Sumter; and a special friend, Tiffany McElveen of Sumter.

Funeral services were held Aug. 28 at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem St., Sumter, with the Rev. Randolph Greene officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 10 Providence St., Sumter.
